Mercedes-Benz AMG GT spied winter testing

The highly anticipated Mercedes-Benz AMG GT (C190) has been spied once again conducting winter testing.

 

These more recent prototypes seem to be wearing a thinner camouflage which reveals more of the car's SLS influences but with conventional doors. It will have a significantly long hood and its overall design will allegedly be inspired by the 300 SL to create what the company's design chief is describing as being "the most beautiful Mercedes ever." Expect to find a prominent front grille, LED headlights and a dual exhaust arrangement for the standard model and a quad setup for a potential S variant.

 

The regular model will make use of a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine with approximately 485 HP (357 kW) while the hotter S / Black Series derivative could have as much as 550 HP (404 kW). The same engine will also power the AMG versions of the recently introduced C-Class (W205).

 

A recent report indicates the first images of the model will be published in September while the public debut will occur a month later at the Paris Motor Show. Set to go on sale at the beginning of next year, the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT / C190 / SLC is rumored to kick off at 110,000 EUR.
