2015 Chevrolet Cruze returns in fresh spy pics with a bit less camouflage
A prototype of the second generation Chevrolet Cruze has been spied winter testing somewhere in Scandinavia.
Unlike the previous prototype which came equipped with the redesigned taillights, this one wears the fake ones but at least the body has slightly less disguise and allows us to see a few of the tweaks Chevrolet will implement in the 2015 Cruze such as the chrome frame around the side windows.
There isn't a lot of information available right now about the second-gen Cruze but the model is rumored to utilize a newly developed D2XX platform. According to General Motors North American President Mark Reuss, the new Cruze will "blow you away" and GM recently stated the vehicle is going to come with "new exterior and interior styling, improved fuel economy and an improved interior compartment and more storage space."
The new Cruze was originally scheduled to be launched as a 2015 model year but apparently because of some engineering problems it was postponed for the 2016MY. When it will come out, the second generation Cruze will be available not only as a sedan, but also as a hatchback and coupe.
