Subaru Legacy Sport in the works, could have 250 bhp

Subaru recently introduced the 2015 Legacy with two carryover engines but a new report is indicating other mills are in the works.

 

Citing a "well-placed" source, Car & Driver is reporting the 3.6-liter flat-six - that produces 256 bhp (191 kW) and 247 lb-ft (334 Nm) of torque - will eventually be replaced by a smaller and more powerful six-cylinder engine. There's no word on specifications but the engine could debut in the Tribeca successor before being added to the Legacy when it is facelifted in approximately three years.

 

In the short term, we can expect a new Legacy Sport in about a year. Little is known about the model but it could use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 250 bhp (186 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque.
