2014 Mercedes-Benz V-Class confirmed for Thursday reveal

Daimler has announced the all-new 2014 Mercedes-Benz V-Class (W447) will be revealed online this Thursday.

 

Set to replace the Viano, the V-Class will distance itself greatly since it will adopt a considerably more passenger-oriented approach with a far better interior. It could work as an R-Class replacement and chances are Mercedes-Benz plans on selling the model in its passenger showrooms.

 

Details about the engine offerings are scarce at the moment but a 2.1-liter 4-cylinder BlueEfficiency diesel unit will probably be available with 136 HP (100 kW), 170 HP (125 kW) and 190 HP (139 kW). A 7-speed automatic transmission will be available along with Mercedes-Benz's brand new 9G-TRONIC which recently debuted on the facelifted E350 BlueTec.

 

Sales are likely to commence in the second half of 2014.
