2014 Peugeot 308 SW announced with 610-liter cargo capacity

Peugeot has taken the wraps off the 308 SW which will be publicly showcased at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March.

 

The French marque says its new 308 SW has a "class-leading" capacity which is not entirely true since the Honda Civic Tourer offers 624 liters (22 cubic feet) of cargo area, 14 liters more than the 308 SW and the Skoda Octavia Combi. Nevertheless, the number is still very impressive and is the result of extending the car's length from 4253mm to 4580mm which has increased boot capacity by 140 liters compared to the hatchback.

 

Engine lineup will be carried over from the five-door hatchback, including the BlueHDi variant which will have CO2 emissions of only 85 g/km. The vehicle rides on the same EMP2 architecture and is 140 kg (308 lbs) lighter than its predecessor.

 

The 2014 Peugeot 308 SW will be showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in March and will reach European dealerships this spring.
