2015 Subaru WRX STI confirmed for Detroit debut

Subaru has announced plans to introduce the 2015 WRX STI at the North American International Auto Show.

 

The company declined to release details but said they will unveil their "iconic performance flagship model" in Detroit.

Nothing is official but previous reports have indicated the car will be equipped with an aggressive body kit that includes wider body panels and a larger rear wing. We can also expect a number of suspension and chassis tweaks to improve the car's handling.

 

Power could be provided by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 300 bhp (224 kW) and 290 lb-ft (393 Nm) of torque. For comparison, the standard WRX has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 268 bhp (200 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque.
