2019 Honda HR-V Revealed In Europe With Turbocharged VTEC Engine

Upgrade is the word of the day for Honda, which announced on Monday “its most sophisticated subcompact SUV to date,“ the HR-V, is getting ready to hit the market in Europe. The car will begin delivering to customers this October, after production of the model has begun at the carmaker's facilities.

 

In October, only the model equipped with the 1.5L i-VTEC engine - which develops 130 PS and maximum torque of 155 Nm at 4,600 rpm - will be made available. A sportier turbo version of the engine will be made available from spring 2019.

 

For the new model year, the Japanese carmaker made a few styling changes and interior updates as well. For the higher-grade version, for instance, the company will be offering a new 17-inch alloy design, unique chrome finisher on the exhaust and full LED lights for both the front and the rear.

 

Visually, the front bumper received deeper air intakes that house circular fog lights. All models get daytime running lights as standard.

 

At the interior, redesigned seats for the driver and front passenger incorporate changes to the seat cushion and backrest. With the help of new insulating material around the car, Honda says its subcompact is now quieter than ever.
