Subaru has released pricing information for the 2019 Outback and Legacy models. Both cars cost more than they did during the 2018 model year but they also receive more standard features.
EyeSight -- Subaru's well-regarded suite of electronic driver aids -- now comes standard on both models regardless of trim level. It includes adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking and throttle management, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Selecting EyeSight previously cost $1,545 and it wasn't available on base-model cars.
Subaru made other small tweaks. Base models get an overhead console with an integrated light and dual USB ports in the front center console. Premium and Limited trims benefit come standard with an auto-dimming rear-view mirror with an integrated compass and a HomeLink transceiver.There are no mechanical changes to report for 2019. Buyers can choose between a 175-horsepower 2.5-liter flat-four engine or a 3.6-liter flat-six rated at 256 horsepower. All-wheel drive and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) come standard regardless of how many cylinders are under the hood.
Pricing for the Legacy starts at $23,430 including the mandatory $885 destination charge, which Subaru has quietly increased by $25. That's $375 more than the 2018 Legacy. The Outback starts at $27,320 after a $975 destination charge, $510 more than last year.
The 2019 Subaru Outback and 2019 Subaru Legacy will arrive on dealer lots by the end of the summer.
