Refreshed 2018 Mazda6 set for Los Angeles debut
Mazda has previewed the refreshed 2018 Mazda6, due to be fully revealed at the Los Angeles auto show.

The flagship sedan has been updated twice already since entering its latest generation in 2012. The latest revision is said to focus on premium materials, introducing new powertrains and the Japanese automaker's latest safety and assistance technologies.

The new turbocharged Skyactiv-G 2.5T engine has trickled down from its debut in the CX-9. The mill will likely remain matched or close to the crossover's 250 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.

Designers added a new high-grade interior configuration with Japanese sen wood, the most significant change among a broader range of slight adjustments and refinements.

Mazda's radar cruise control has been improved to further reduce the driver workload. The system now automatically brakes to a halt and takes off again in congested traffic. Previously the car would only keep a set distance from a lead car in a certain speed range, requiring drivers to take over manual control during the actual 'stop' and 'go' maneuvers.

More details could be revealed during Mazda's press event on November 29.
