Buick LaCrosse goes upscale with Avenir trim
Buick has expanded the LaCrosse line-up with a range-topping trim level named Avenir. It will join the Enclave Avenir in showrooms early next year.
Avenir is to the LaCrosse what Denali is to the GMC Sierra. Visually, the trim level adds a more upscale look characterized by mesh inserts in the grille and the lower air dam, special emblems, and 19-inch alloy wheels. 20-inch alloys are offered at an extra cost.
The interior receives chestnut-colored upholstery, embroidered headrests for the first-row passengers, and special sill plates. The Avenir also receives many of the features that are optional on the regular model including navigation, a panoramic moonroof, and a surround sound system made by Bose.
While the base LaCrosse goes hybrid for 2018, the Avenir model comes standard with the 310-horsepower V6 and the nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard, and all-wheel drive is offered at an extra cost. Buyers can also spend extra on the Dynamic Drive package, which adds a variable suspension and electronic driving aids.
The 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir will go on sale in the coming weeks, and deliveries will start early next year. Pricing information hasn't been released yet. Expect to spend at least $40,000, however.
