Aston Martin reveals 2018 DB11 Volante
Aston Martin has revealed the 2018 DB11 Volante, joining the DB11 Coupe that arrived on the market last year.
Billed as the ultimate open-top grand tourer, the Volante is powered by a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 510 PS (503 horsepower). The power is put to better use thanks to a bonded structure that is 57 pounds lighter yet five percent stiffer than its predecessor.
The eight-layer fabric top boasts the latest acoustic and insulation materials to reduce wind noise and keep out bad weather. It can be lowered in 14 seconds and raised in 16 seconds, actuated remotely via the key fob or while underway at speeds of up to 31 mph with a 31 mph headwind.
As an added bonus, the revised top brings a 20-percent increase in trunk space compared to the DB9 Volante.
Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of next year, with US pricing starting at $216,495.
