It's only been a few days since we last spied the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS and yet here we are, back on the topic, with the third incarnation of the model credited for popularising the four-door coupe being almost ready to make its debut.
Meanwhile, we've seen multiple unofficial reports that dismiss the rumors of the three-pointed star axing the CLS moniker in favor of the CLE badge.
As such, the most potent incarnation of the third-gen CLS, which is expected to come with a badge sitting underneath the infamous "63" will be animated by a twin-turbo inline-six with hybrid assistance (think: 48V system) - its output will sit anywhere between 400 and 500 ponies.
Speaking of the three-pointe start's return to the straight-six configuration, the upper side of the diesel CLS lineup will borrow the tricks delivered by the 350d and 400d motors we've met on the 2018 S-Class facelift.
As far as the transmission is concerned, the German automaker should offer a nine-speed automatic as standard.
We should meet the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS at the Los Angeles Motor Show, which is scheduled to take place at the end of next month (the public days kick off on December 1st).
