Fiat 500 Riva revealed as speedboat-inspired special edition

Fiat’s idea of a boat on wheels is a special edition 500 created with help from yacht builder Riva. The nautical theme starts on the outside where the car’s body has received a lovely “Sera Blue” livery which you can’t have on any other 500 model. The finish is derived from Riva’s Aquariva Super yacht and on the open-top 500 is combined with a new shade of blue for the top while the regular model gets a black panoramic roof.

 

To make it stand out even more, Fiat and Riva gave the side mirror caps a chrome finish which you’ll also notice on the hood trim and the door handles. The side profile is adorned by a double aquamarine line that runs along the beltline while the hard-to-clean 16-inch alloy wheels featuring a 20-spoke design are also exclusive to this special edition.

 

Stepping inside, the Fiat 500 Riva has received hand-painted mahogany with maple inlay work for the central area of the dashboard along with special door sills and gear lever knob carved from a solid piece of mahogany wood. The seats come wrapped in tailor-made ivory leather from Poltrona Frau and with ivory stitching to mimic the Aquariva Super. As a final touch, the cabin has received a new set of floor mats with ivory hems and “Sera Blue” stitching to match the body’s look.

 

Gasoline engine options include a 69-hp 1.2-liter unit and the punchier Twin Air 0.9-liter offered in 85 hp and 105 hp flavors. If you would rather have a diesel, the 500 Riva can be specified with a 95-hp 1.3-liter Multijet and depending on engine choice, buyers get to pick from five- or six-speed manual transmissions and the robotized Dualogic ‘box.
