2017 Nissan GT-R Premium kicks off at $111k

For the 2017 model year, Nissan has prepared what it describes as being “the most significant makeover” of the R35 generation. It has been thoroughly revised both inside and out while the biturbo 3.8-liter V6 packs an additional 20 horsepower for a total of 565 hp. In addition, the sequential six-speed, dual-clutch gearbox is faster and smoother than before. On top of that, most of the styling revisions come to further improve the car’s aerodynamic efficiency.

 

The first of the four grade levels of the 2017 GT-R, Premium comes with semi-aniline leather available in Amber Red, Ivory, and the new Rakuda Tan finish. Standard equipment is quite generous, including among others the latest NissanConnectSM setup with support for navigation, mobile apps, and services. For the new model year, the capacitive touchscreen has grown in size from seven to eight inches and the infotainment system should be easier to use since the number of switches has been reduced from the previous 27 to just 11.

 

If you go for the 2017 GT-R Premium, you’ll be able to use a smartphone to remotely lock and unlock the doors, as well as turn on the alarm, activate emergency services, and track the car in the unfortunate case it gets stolen.

 

Nissan mentions it will announce pricing details for the other three trims in the near future. For now we only know the Premium has a MSRP of $109,990, plus $1,595 destination and handling.
