Opel Zafira facelift revealed, launches in September
Opel and Vauxhall have officially unveiled the facelifted Zafira following a leak on Thursday.
Set to arrive at dealerships in September, the model has an evolutionary design which borrows a number of styling cues from the Astra. Starting up front, we can see the MPV has been equipped with a sportier front fascia which features a revised grille and a new lower air intake. The model can also be equipped with newly optional LED Adaptive Forward Lighting headlights.
The interior hasn't been neglected as designers installed a new three-spoke steering wheel, a revised dashboard, and a new IntelliLink infotainment with a 7-inch display. The latter system eliminates a plethora of buttons and has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The Zafira also boasts OnStar connectivity as well as a generous luggage compartment which can hold up to 65.6 cubic feet (1,860 liters) of cargo.
An assortment of different options will be available including everything from a panoramic sunroof to a Lounge Seating system. The MPV can also be equipped with an upgraded Opel Eye camera which supports the Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indication, and Traffic Sign Assistant systems. Customers can also order Adaptive Cruise Control, a Lane Departure Warning system, and a FlexRide chassis that continuously adapts the suspension to match current driving conditions.
Opel declined to release performance specifications but confirmed the Zafira will be the "only vehicle in its segment with a complete propulsion offering consisting of dynamic gasoline, diesel, LPG and CNG engines."
