Aston Martin Vantage GT8 spy shots confirm 911 GT3 RS rival

We received a batch of spy images which come to confirm a recent report regarding an Aston Martin Vantage GT8.

 

It was only a couple of days ago when we first heard about a possible Aston Martin Vantage GT8 and now we have spy pics showing how the V8 Vantage will get an array of upgrades similar to the Vantage GT12 . The prototype’s body appears to resemble the V12-powered version, albeit the front grille has a different pattern and the front splitter doesn’t stick out like it does on the GT12. That being said, don’t be too surprised if the final product will look even more like the V12 model.

 

Official details about the Vantage GT8 are not available at this point, but rumors suggest that rear wing will be optional. It is believed the car will have a full carbon fiber body and will be available with either a seven-speed manual transmission or an optional SSII automated manual. The hardcore V8-powered Vantage is estimated to lose around 154-176 pounds (70-80 kilograms) compared to the V8 Vantage S which weighs 3,549 pounds (1,610 kilograms).

 

In terms of power, the 4.7-liter V8 packs 430 horsepower (321 kilowatts) in the V8 Vantage S, but we should expect an extra 15-20 hp in the GT8. The added punch corroborated with the diet will likely shave off a few ticks of a second from the 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint that takes 4.8 seconds in the V8 Vantage S.

 

The Aston Martin Vantage GT8 will reportedly be limited to only 150 cars and 40 of them are heading to U.K. where the special edition will cost around ￡200,000.
